Summer Class Registration taking place now!

Summer class registration for our Cinderella Camp (ages 3-9), our ballet camp, and our hip hop camp is taking place now.  E-mail us for a schedule at inlandnwballet@aol.com or call 467-0765 to have one sent to you.  For those little ones that are adoring Miss Kaiti Bri as our Diamond Soloist, she will be teaching the Cinderella Camp!
Cinderella Dance camp involves lots of dancing, some Cinderella crafts (decorate your own glass slipper!), snacks, watching a bit of the Cinderella Ballet video, and lots more!  Cinderella Camp, ballet up to level 3, and hip hop camp all take place in July.
Summer camps for levels 4 and above take place late July and early August with guest instructors.
We love our summertime fun!  :)

June performances, what fun!

Our performance season is in full swing, with dress rehearsals and performances happening all around us!  We are having a wonderful time watching our girls and boys dance on stage.  Last week's performances went quite smoothly, well as smoothly as placing some little ones onstage for the first time ever can be...:)
We have more dress rehearsals coming up this week, to prepare for performances on Saturday, with a Matinee at 2:00 and Evening performance at 7:00 pm.  Happy dancing to all our girls and boys!

Fall registration day this weekend!

Pre-registration concluded last Saturday, May 26, and fall registration for current students begins this Saturday, June 2 at noon.  If you are pre-registered (for those staying in the same class) you don't need to stand in line registration day...yippie!  If you really desire a particular class, especially Ballet 1, 2, or 3, you will definitely want to attend on Saturday. If you are attending on Saturday, while the line can be long before we open (some families line up as early as 5:30 am, with a chair, a good book, and some snacks), it goes very quickly once we open.  The Rocket bakery is also open next door for coffee and goodies, you can usually team up with others in line to hold your spot while you make a coffee run..:)
We are holding a drawing on Facebook for a guaranteed "don't have to stand in line registration pass", so click our Facebook link and put your name in!  If you don't have Facebook, you can send us an e-mail by Wed. at 1 pm to inlandnwballet@aol.com, and we will place your name in the drawing for you!  :)
Registration for available openings will begin for new students, or those unable to attend on registration day, on Monday, June 4, and summer registrations are being accepted at the current time!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Coming up this Friday is Memorial Day Weekend, so while we DO have class on Friday, we do NOT have class on Saturday.  Enjoy your weekend, we hope it is relaxing for all of our dancers, so you are recharged and ready to go again on Monday...:)

Fall registration for ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and contemporary dance!

To hold your current place in class (or to enroll in a new class, if you are an exception to the above rule as stated in your letter), you must turn in your registration by this coming Saturday, May 26 at noon (slip it into the drop slot in the east door if we are closed).  No registrations will be taken next week, so that we are able to enter all registered dancers in the computer, in order to give current enrollment numbers to parents, for help in registering next Sat. for a new class.  Please read your packet info to discover guidelines on where to place your child for next year...:)  If you have questions regarding the guidelines, please ask your child's instructor before Saturday.

Photo week can be crazy or calm...:)

This is PHOTO WEEK, and it has been a little crazy, with missing costumes, dancers with out shoes, wrong color tights, tights with no feet in them (?), no bows on tap shoes, black, purple or blue nail polish on little ballet dancers, brightly colored band aids, holes or runs in tights, or dirty tights...:(

We have sent paperwork that explains how to best prepare your child for photos, though you do have to actually read it to know what is going on...;)  We want all our dancers to feel confident and beautiful, rather than unprepared and stressed...Happy dancers make happy photos!

Attendance, punctuality, and pretty costumes!

Spring has sprung, or is springing, as we speak! With spring comes performance preparation, and so the students are beginning to learn choreography for our June performance season, so attendance and punctuality are both very important.
Late students disrupt the focus of the entire class, and leave your child unprepared and embarrassed, so we truly appreciate you bringing your child on time for every class. Teaching punctuality in the early years sets the standard for life...:)
Absent students make it difficult for the others, as they need to dance in formation, but that is difficult when dancers are missing, so we appreciate terrific attendance as well! Your child will benefit by feeling confident when onstage, and isn't that what every parent wants? :)

Costumes are beginning to arrive, and will be sent home during the next few months. Remember, your account must be paid up to receive your costume. The costume we have received are adorable, and we can't wait to see them on the dancers!

Please read your student packet to save you confusion...

Each year, we design and send home (and have parents sign for) a student packet that answers most/all of your questions regarding how our dance year works. It can save you a great deal of time in phone calls and e-mails, but only if you read it...:)

When we are closed, as you can imagine, we do not answer e-mail, nor the phone. For this reason, please refer to your Student Packet that you signed for, if you have questions regarding studio closures due to heavy snow or extreme temps. The packet explains when we close, and how we decide on Sat. closures. E-mails and phone calls will be returned the next day that we are open, which may be too late to answer your question.

No school = no dance...

No school at Mead School District or Spokane School District means no dance class today...:( Stay home and play in the snow! Hopefully the snow will all melt and this will be our only closure for the year...:)
